An old lift at the entrance acts as a door, hence the bar's name (ascensor means lift, or elevator). Once you've walked through it, you'll find a great place that plays soft music in a cosy atmosphere on weeknights. All the Catalan Modernist details are there in the decor: the lights, cash register and furniture are all from the early 20th century, and the lighting is perfect. On weekends the atmosphere livens up, with Latin jazz, hip-hop and fusion.
