Not brilliantly decorated, this Bar-Club-Amusement Centre is frequented by young, modern types. The music is mainly quality electronic beats of all sorts. They have special theme nights dedicated to different rhythms and styles: Astin Club (Pop-Break-House on Fri & Sat at 11p-5a), Nitsa Club (Techno-House-Electro on Sun at 11pm), Stay True (Hip hop-Funk-Break beat on Sun at 11p), Cosmos Social Club (Big Beat-Hip hop-Jazz-Lounge on Thursday at 11p), and Ultra Lounge (Easy listening-Post rock on Sun at 8p). The DJs that play those nights are: at Astin Club -DJ Coco, Chelin (Astin Selectors) plus international DJs; at Nitsa -Nitsa Selectors; at Stay True -Dani Motherfucker; at Cosmos -Cosmos DJs; and at Ultra Lounge -Guest DJs. Recently, the Nitsa chain of clubs has expanded throughout the city. Astin was born as a result of this growth and is just opposite another club, The Abaixadors Deu, both trying to modernise the Carrer del Born. The entrance at Astin is like a funnel that takes you to the dance floor by means of a narrow passageway. On the other floor there is a peaceful lounge to chat with friends or partners with a bit more privacy. The fact that this club belongs to the Nitsa group has given it fame and prestige, as have its quality music and DJs. At present, it is one of the most fashionable clubs in town.
