This is a very modest place, located on the ground floor of an old house in the Eixample district. The tables spread out over a long room, with a bar at the side. The most common and probably best thing to do here is order a surtido, or assortment of specialities, including cheese, patés or cold meats. These should be accompanied with "pà amb tomàquet", big slices of country-style bread, rubbed with fresh tomatoes and seasoned with Catalan olive oil and a pinch of salt. This bread is so popular and tasty, in fact, that most Catalans would rather die (almost) than not order any. And this is the ideal place to try it.
