Bars & Nightlife

Barcelona is well-known for its nightlife. There are traditional old-fashioned bars and cafés, and also trendy modern places with stylish interior. Some recommended places include Glaciar in Plaça Reial, Karma, Sidecar Factory Club and a selection of great pubs on Calle Escudellers. For pure Modernist style, inside and out, try Ascensor.

Around El Borne there are trendy bars and the adjacent streets full of well-preserved medieval houses and mansions. The area has mostly relaxing and intimate bars, check Salero and Gimlet.

In the Gothic District for an outdoor experience with impressive views visit Plaça del Pi i Plaça Sant Josep Oriol or Plaça Sant Felip Neri.

Other Areas also offer expensive bars and restaurants. Tibidabo offers exclusivity along with great views of the city.

Also don't forget Calle Balmes and Calle Aribau in Eixample district, and the area between Calle Santaló and Calle María Cubí in Sant Gervasi district that offers busy nightlife starting from 1 or 2 in the morning.
