This is a traditional restaurant just off Paral.lel that serves modern versions of typical Catalan dishes. A loyal clientele of regulars keeps coming back for favorites such as foie gras terrine, lamb in truffle sauce and baby octopus from the River Ebro delta. The owners are seasoned professionals who also offer an excellent list of wines with an emphasis on Catalonia and Rioja as producers. You'll find the walls decorated with old photographs, lithographs and paintings by well-known Catalan artists like Guinovart and Cuixart showing Barcelona as it used to be.

My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. I was treated by the 'jefe de sala' and the sommelier as if I were not there. Everything was addressed only to my husband, and even when my husband referred to me, the comments were ignored. I have to think that either my being a woman or a Chinese made them uncomfortable. (My husband is Canadian and we both speak Spanish). The food wasn't too brilliant for that price, and for that treatment, it's worth nothing.
