Its history begins in a small chapel of the 1st century, on that building it was built a romantic church (11th century) of the one that remain remainders in the entry of Sant. Iu. In 1298 the construction of the present Gothic temple was initiated and the last detail, the central needle, was incorporated in 1913. The chorus is a true work of art, the same as the crucifix of the Christ of Lepanto (16th century), the crypt is of Santa Eulàlia, the patron saint of Barcelona and the neighborhood Claustro (cloister).
