Founded in 1858, La Cava Universal has the most famous neighbour in town, Cristopher Columbus' statue, which dominates the Barcelona port and has finally been restored. This bar-café is located at the end of the Ramblas, very close to the old port, full of pedestrians, tourists and cars. The café also has some tables on the Ramblas. Indoors or out, you can order Buñuelos (typical fritters rolled in sugar), Canapés, Omelettes, fruit juice or sandwiches to while away the time while watching the passers-by and all the activity.
