Built in 1963 at the height of Barcelona's so-called period of 'urban development architecture', this hotel is not what may be considered beautiful, but it is practical. The 15-floor building has a rectangular layout, semi-circular reception area and a large glass front. The spacious and comfortable bedrooms share the building's large modern style. Its central location makes it popular with businessmen. It's also used frequently by famous figures in the bullfighting world. On Sundays during the summer you often see bullfighters in their ornate 'suits of lights' leaving the hotel on their way to the ring.
