Restored and renovated in 1992 for the Olympic Games, this is another example of late 19th-century Modernist architecture. The much-needed refurbishment means that the building has lost some of its old-world charm but has improved the quality of the bedrooms. Even though it's close to the port, it's still quiet and peaceful here. The staff are friendly and welcoming. You can get discounts at several restaurants and taverns in the surrounding neighbourhood as a guest.
