Located on Calle Petrixol, one of the city's prettiest streets, it's the only place left in town where you can still order a traditional sweet on the verge of extinction - Mató de Pedralbes (Pedralbes curd cheese). It's a delicious mixture of caramel and crème brulée, served in a clay bowl. This old-fashioned cafe also serves excellent coffee and hot chocolate accompanied by chuchos (cream-filled fritters), caramel creams and sponge cakes. There are few better ways of spending a cold winter's afternoon than indulging yourself here for just (EUR 4). Owned by the same family for the last 50 years, it retains it's original charming modernist interior decor.
