This street leads from the sea to Plaça Espanya and it was named for its location, on the 41º 44' parallel. In the early 20th century, a lot of cabarets, theatres, bars and other sundry nightlife spots opened up along the street and for years attracted crowds day and night. However, most of those places have closed down now and all that remains is the memory of a glorious bygone era. Nevertheless, strolling around the area is a nice nostalgia trip and there are still plenty of cafés and bars to stop in at.
