The Parc de Collserola (Collserola Park) is on Collserola Mountain just behind Barcelona. It spans 8000 hectares including large areas of white pine and oaks with squirrels, rabbits, foxes, etc. It is one of the biggest urban parks in Europe. In addition to the different flora and fauna, there are Masies (traditional Catalan houses) and archaeological remains here, and there are lots of trails for hikers and cyclists. Moreover, on Saturdays from 10.30a until 1p there are organized hikes. Also, two nights per month astronomical observations take place between 10p and midnight.
